Nigel has been serving the community of Chandlers Ford and the surrounding area for over 35 years and became an independent funeral director, establishing his business at 27 Hursley Road in 2006. The family- run business includes his daughter Lucy who successfully completed her diploma in Funeral Directing in October 2015.
Together with our dedicated qualified funeral directors we offer a 24-hour service, 365 days a year and treat each funeral as unique to suit the financial situation and wishes of the family. With our many years of experience, we offer professional guidance on the style and location of the ceremony, from a simple commital to a personalised celebration that reflects the individual.
Bespoke Professional Service Charge – £1298
- Our personal 24-hour service
- Personal atention of our qualified staff and funeral directors to arrange and discuss the planning of the funeral arrangements at either our office or your home to discuss the funeral arrangements
- All arrangements and confirmations with clergy, cemetery, crematorium and all necessary documentation relating to the funeral service
- Funeral Director to atend on the day of the funeral
- Advice and guidance on registration of a death
- Liaising with the doctor, surgery or medical examiner for the cremation paperwork and/or the Coroner
- Organising media with the crematorium/service location such as music, webcasts and visual tributes
- The use of our office and facilities
- Confirmation and estimate of cost of our services
- Collation of donations via our office and/or online with a personalised memorial page, this includes listing the donors with the total raised and sending to the charitie(s)
- Liasing on your behalf with newspapers if necessary for death notices
- Paying all disbursements and fees on your behalf where necessary
- Managing and advising all queries relating to the funeral and our services
- A contribution to our fixed overheads and running of the business
Collection of the Deceased – £365
- Collecting and transporting the deceased person from the place of death (usually withing 15 miles of our premises) with up to two staff to our chapel of rest at anytime
Care and Atention – £398
- The care, preparaon and presentation of the decased by trained staff and use of our cold room facilities from the time of in to our care to the funeral
- Dressing and preparation of the deceased as instructed. We can provide as the option of a gown in a range of colours if required.
- Visitation of the deceased to our chapel of rest by appointment during office hours.
Embalming (Hygienic treatment) – £145
- Embalming is a way to help present, preserve and delay the natural changes to person.
Bearers & Vehicle Hire
- Providing 4 pall bearers to carry the coffin – £180
- Providing 6 pall bearers to carry the coffin £270
- Provision of a black or silver hearse – £495
- Provision of a black of silver limousine £295 (price per limousine seats 6 passengers and one additional seat in the front next to the driver totalling a space for 7 mourners)
Alternative vehicles such a Motorcycle hearse, Land Rover hearse and Horse Drawn – Prices on request.

Durham
Plain veneered oak coffin fitted with brass effect handles for burial or cremation. Simple interior set. Price: £478.00 |

Traditional coffin of high-quality veneered Oak with added detail of panelled sides and raised lid. Fitted with brass effect handles and a choice of coloured interiors. Price: £768.00 |
Bamboo Eco
Bamboo Eco coffins tradition or rounded ends made from sustainable bamboo suitable for cremation or green burial sites. Price £685.00
English Willow
English Willow coffin crafted in the UK using traditional methods of willow weaving. Willow is grown on the Somerset levels from a sustainable source. Available in different colours traditional or round ended. Prices from £745.00
Pandanus/Banana
An eco-friendly hand-woven coffin are made by Fair Trade companies in Indonesia. Pandanus/Banana is the environmentally friendly alternative to seagrass since its harvesting does not effect the marine life that live in the shallow coastal waters in which seagrass grows. Prices from £765.00
Willow/Bamboo Teardrop
Our signature “Teardrop” shape is available in a choice of willow, Willow and Bulrush, or Bamboo. They may have a painted finish (white) upon request. Prices from £758.00
Cardboard
Cardboard coffins are produced in the UK using materials produced from unbleached pulp containing at least 60% recycled paper plus wood pulp sourced from sustainable forest. They use only starch based glues in assembly – no bolts, screws, tape or other fixings. The handles are made from woven cotton. In manilla or white. Price £585.00
Colourful Coffins
Our wooden picture coffins (available in cardboard) are always a popular choice. Approved for burial and cremation and at most natural burial grounds, these are sourced from FSC-accredited companies using wood from sustainable sources. The designs are printed onto an environmentally friendly paper wrap, which is then applied by hand to ensure the highest level of quality and craftsmanship.

Somerset Coffins
Our willow coffins are lovingly handmade and finished in our Somerset workshops by one of our experienced basket makers using willow grown locally on the Somerset levels. Each of our willow coffins can be personalised with a beautiful selection of coloured banding and handles upon the family’s request, In addition we can weave into the coffin matching crosses, symbols and designs should this be the wish of the family. INTERMENT FEES
The fees indicated for the various sections in this part:
- Includes the digging of the grave

- The body of a stillborn child: No charge
- The body of a child whose age at the time of death did not exceed EIGHTEEN YEARS: No charge
- The body of a person whose age at the time of death exceeded EIGHTEEN YEARS: Single depth: £1250.00, Double depth: £1600.00
- Reopen grave to SINGLE depth: £1350.00
- Cremated remains: £430.00
- Plot in Columbarium: £1090.00

PART 2 EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS OF BURIAL (PURCHASE OF GRAVE)
For the exclusive right of burial, for a period not exceeding 30 years:

N.B. Double charges will be made for fees in Parts 1 and 2 to non-residents (after two years outside the Borough)
An exception is made to this rule where a resident transfer outside the Borough for specialist Nursing Home or Hospital care.

Terms of Business
Nigel Guilder Limited requires full payment of funeral and sundry invoices within 30 days of date of
invoice. If full payment is not received by the due date we may charge interest at the rate of 3% per month and any associated debt recovery costs. Nigel Guilder Ltd requires full payment in advance of our Standardised Unatended Cremation and Burial Service and our Standardised Atended Funeral including any disbursements or third-party fees.
Disclosure of Business
The ultimate owner of this business is Nigel Guilder Limited. We have no business or financial interest in a price comparison website which compares Funeral Director Services and/or Crematoria Services and their respective prices.
Register of Gratuities
Nigel Guilder Limited does not pay gratuities to third parties in respect of funerals. Under the CMA Order a register is available in our premises to view upon request.
